Spirit Receivers

2017–-2020 — Reclaimed distillery pipe, copper, breath

Produced in residency at The Glenfiddich Distillery

A series of vessels crafted from reclaimed copper distillery pipe, a material which has had innumerable gallons of spirit pumped through it over its useful lifetime. The vessels were sealed on August 25, 2017, having captured spirit vapour as processed by the artist's lungs; 3 sets of the vessels were returned to the spirit safe at Glenfiddich, to age for three years and a day (the minimum required aging time for scotch whisky), there to verdigris by absorbing spirit vapour into the exteriors of their skins.
