Revelations

A vintage stag/burlesque film edited so that the only frames retained are those in which the dancer resembles an angel. The stripper/angel is then caught between the sublime or divine and the profane or bawdy. She is rendered glowing and beautiful but also sterile as a flickering presence instead of a flawed, organic being. Through her dance and the gaze imposed on her, she trades humanity for immortality.
